The Dubuque Bird Dog Club was formed in the early 1960's to promote the breed of dogs called the "pointing"
breed. The clubs primary purpose was to encourage better training of the pointing breed for more ethical & responsible
hunting afield.

The Dubuque Bird Dog Club normally has approximately 50-70 members year to year. Members are welcome to take
part in all club activities which take place throughout the year. These activities consist of at least one Spring Fun
Trial & at least one Fall Fun Trial. These trials are normally run with pen-raised quail and feature 1st, 2nd &
3rd place trophies to the winners. In recent years we have been fortunate enough to have two fall trials in October,
plus a chukar trial in early September. What a great way to tune your dog up for the fall hunting season! In addition
to the trials, we normally have our annual June trap shoot night at a local shooting park as well as an Awards Banquet in
February. There are other more informal gatherings throughout the year and I hope to keep all of this posted on
this website. The monthly meeting is held on the third Thursday of every month. Please check the events calendar
for times & locations as they become available. Please be patient with me as I slowly build this website.
Check back periodically for updated features!
